I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Both of these tools come with the Android SDK, however that’s an extremely large download that, frankly, most users who are interested in ADB and fastboot don’t need. This DownloadHelper for Safari alternative will install an app to your Mac OS and add browser plugins to Safari, Chrome (optional) and Firefox (optional). MozUpdate is a tiny Nullsoft Installer application that downloads the latest Mozilla Nightly Build and installs it in the directory you specify. It automatically takes care of deleting the previous version. Does anyone have an idea what this is and how or why it would have suddenly appeared? EDIT: Just remembered: when I removed Addon Update Checker, it set Add-ons to update automatically and several were downloaded (not installed, since as soon as I saw that, I went to a backup Profile.) Is MozUpdater (not MozUpdate) involved in automatic downloading of Add-on updates? How to download themes for powerpoint mac. POBannon wrote:Just ran into the same thing in Mac OS X 10.7.4 trash. Yours post is the only thing new for years via Google. Couldn't find anything on the Firefox website.

Do you have Add-ons set to update automatically? Since it also appeared in caches as a temporary item -- I forget the exact path now and it's gone from there since I restarted, I'm beginning to think it's probably the result of automatic Add-on update downloading, something which I'd never done before. This was the first time I ever saw it. Background DLs like this or silent Flash updating usually go to some temporary location.

'Reverent' Btw, I had Mac in the topic at first, but removed it because if this wasn't a Mac specific issue it might discourage Windows people, who represent the vast majority here, from looking any further. When I first posted, I still hadn't looked inside the application package contents to see that it was Mac specific.

Here's the updater.ini (the wording makes me think this might have come from the 15 to 15.01 update (I not only replaced the Profile, which was from 15, but the corresponding app, the 15, in case it might make a difference, then updated back to 15.01 again. But, if it was the app update and not the extension update, why didn't I see this in Recovered Files in the Trash the first time I updated to 15.01? The updater.app is part of the FF application. I always manually update both the app [using About FF] and extensions [using the Add-on Manager]; and to my knowledge, have never seen anything in the trash.

When updating either the app or add-ons FF simply overwrites the old files and does not trash anything. I just checked using the Aurora nightly and there was nothing in the trash. I will check again at the end of the week when FF16b2 goes to b3. If I see anything in the trash will report it in this thread; but, don't hold your breath. Kukla wrote:So this was weird.
