Any mid-2010 MacBook Pro i5 or i7 is limited to a maximum of 8GB RAM. If you have a 2010 MacBook Pro Core2Duo (13'), then you are in luck and you can upgrade to 16GB RAM. The type of RAM needed is DDR3 PC3-8500 1066. The addition of a 32 GB RAM option for the 15-Inch 'Mid-2018' MacBook Pro models is a significant improvement to the line. Previous 15-Inch models could not be upgraded beyond their default 16 GB of RAM. The RAM for Mac Pro in the 2013 Mac Pro will use a 4 channel memory controller at 1866MHz DDR3 ECC RAM. A good buy When I first bought my Apple Mac Pro MC250LL/A 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (Mid-2010/Nehalem), the largest memory that was recommended was 16GB. Back then memory sticks were expensive, but I bought 4 x 4 GB sticks. But recently I noticed that the original 16 GB recommendation has been increased. How to create mailing list in word for mac.

These A-Tech sticks are very good value, better than I could find elsewhere. I'm in the UK, so I had to wait a little while for them to arrive from the States, but the price is great, they installed with no problem and now my machine runs a tad faster.

All in all, I am very happy and would recommend this Ram to anyone thinking of upgrading their MacPro.

My newly acquired mac pro has only 1gb of ram, and I figured since I need to upgrade it, then I'll add my ram by multiples of 8gb (2x4gb). My question is, since Apple list only 16gb max, can I really do it this way?

Memory for mac pro early 2009

I read on multiple sites that is possible to upgrade the ram to 32gb, so 8 slots x 4gb. Can I install my ram in increments of 2x4gb? Or would I have to install it all at once? I was hoping to do it in increments because the Mac Pro ram is very, very expensive! Any information would be great, thanks! ALL Mac Pro models, from the 2006 to today, can handle 32GB.

Only 2006-7 came with just 1GB (2 x 512MB) and can handle 8 x 4GB which was shown as soon as there were 8GB sets (2 x 4GB) 4 yrs ago. Have to install in pairs. I would kind of wonder and rethink, do you need that much?

CS5 is one of the few that will. 1GB was never good, and I've always counseled that 4 x 1GB is the real minimum - anything less was just starvation / anemia for the system - not enough at all. 4 x 4GB is around $500-600. If you are going to spend that kind of money, do you perhaps need to look at $1800 Mac Pro 2009 on sale @ MPG and AMazon? The cost of 5770 ($249, over priced as PC 5870s go for that), $400 for dual quad-core upgrade; some good drives can really help any system. And even quad-core 2009/2010 can take 4 x 8GB; while 2008 has 8 DIMM slots. Apple refuses to update specs and support pages, but that is just lazy and take with grain of salt, it is not writ in stone.
